Jude Valentine holds a BFA in Printmaking from the Maine College of Art and a MFA in Visual Art with a concentration in multi-disciplinary media from Vermont College. Awards include a Jerome Foundation Fellowship, several Special Opportunity Stipends from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Artist in Residencies Grants from the New York Council on the Arts, and an Individual Grant Award from Cornell University, Council on Creative Arts. She has exhibited widely in New England and New York. Her work is represented in the collection of the National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution and many private collections. Jude has taught drawing, painting, pastel, photography and design courses in addition to courses in art history, and art methods for early childhood educators at the college level since 1982. She is experienced teaching all ages and ability levels, and currently teaches at the University of Maine at Machias. As an arts administrator, she has designed arts education programs, community festivals and conferences. She offers workshops and professional development for artists and organizations in the areas of arts education, organizational development, and program development and design.
